Arcade is throwing its first-ever late-night, entertainment-filled New Year’s Eve Party. Get out your orange berets and tinted glasses because while the year is 2020, we’re going back to 1970–and celebrating to the max!
Enjoy far-out party games (including Quiplash on the big screen, old school video games and new school VR, and all kinds of fun board games), heavy appetizers, and a midnight toast to the new year with Arcade family, friends, and fans. Then kick off your groovy New Year with the hilarious and interactive You’re the Next Contestant live game show featuring selected audience members and special “celebrity” guests playing CARD SHARKS. Dressing up in the “1970s” theme is encouraged (but not required).
This event is 21+ and we’ll have a cash bar with beer (domestic & craft), red & white wine, and a signature cocktail!
Proceeds benefit Arcade’s non-profit programming and mission. Catch you on the flip side!
EVENT DETAILS:
The party starts at 10:30 PM on December 31, 2019 and ends January 1, 2020 at 2:00 AM. The special presentation of “You’re The Next Contestant” starts shortly after the midnight toast.

General Admission Ticket: $35 in advance / $45 at the door
One General Admission Ticket includes entry for one guest to play curated party games, enjoy heavy appetizers, a toast at midnight, and a general admission seat at the “You’re The Next Contestant” show.
General Admission + 4 Drinks: $60 in advance only
Get four drink tickets when you walk in the door, good for any beer or wine option at our bar! While we’ll be selling drinks there, buying this option in advance saves you over 20% off four drinks.
Groovy Add-Ons
Reserved Seat: $5 in advance only
Want the best seat in the house at the You’re The Next Contestant show? Add one Reserved Seat Add-On per guest to have a reserved seat in the front 3 rows of the theater. Only 30 seats available.
Raffle Tickets: 15 chances for $10 in advance
Want to join the fun on stage during You’re The Next Contestant? Raffle tickets will be sold at the event for audience members to win a chance to go on stage and play! 1 raffle ticket costs $1, and is worth 1 chance at going on stage. By purchasing ahead of time for this great deal, you’ll get 5 extra raffle tickets to use toward a chance at playing CARD SHARKS—15 tickets for just $10!
Parking
The Cultural District is a bustling, exciting place to be — whether it’s a street festival, Pirates game, or Hollywood film shoot, there’s always something cool happening. So give yourself a little extra time to park and get to the theater. There are is a parking garage within a block of the theater, which is only $6 for the night: Smithfield & Liberty Garage.
There are also a number of bus stops near us, as well as the Wood Street T-Station, if you’re taking public transit. Drop-off and pick-up areas are available right in front of our building.

FAQs, baby!
Are you a part of Highmark First Night?
Arcade Comedy Theater is going to be participating in First Night with three family-friendly performances by Penny Arcade and Player One. Those shows are separate from this event, and vouchers for them will be available via the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust. Those performances conclude by 10PM.
What kinds of games will you have to play?
There’s going to be games to suit every one at this party!
Starting at 10:30PM, you’ll be able to explore our second floor theater, which will have living room-style party games, old school arcade cabinets, NES games, and even a giant game of Quiplash on our projection screen! Additionally, we’ll also have a quiet room where folks are welcome to dig into some card games and classic 70s games.
Is this party BYOB?
Unlike our normal weekend shows, this event will actually have a cash bar with domestic and craft beers, red and white wine, and even a signature cocktail!
BYOB won’t be an option.
What's the show about?
Just after the midnight toast, everyone at the party will grab a seat in Arcade’s downstairs theater for a special presentation of You’re the Next Contestant — a live game show hosted by Mike Rubino, Abby Fudor, and special guests. The show will be parodying and recreating the classic late-70s game show CARD SHARKS — and the contestants will be chosen via raffle tickets from the audience.
When does the event end?
Our party goes til 2AM, with last call being 1:45AM.
