Arcade Comedy Theater Celebrates 3 Years of Comedy

We’re celebrating three awesome years of comedy and creativity in the Cultural District with a weekend jam-packed with performances from local artists. Variety is the name of the game: we’ve got shortform improv, music, longform improv, magic, stand-up and more all weekend long — including an all-ages kids matinee!
You can find full listings for each show below, as well as links to buy tickets! Proceeds from this weekend are going directly to help the Arcade’s non-profit mission of making comedy accessible and affordable for all audiences.

Player One
Arcade Comedy Theater is kicking off its Anniversary Weekend with a headlining performance from PLAYER ONE, the theater’s original improv troupe. Since the Arcade’s debut in 2013, Player One has been headlining big events all around the city, including playing at the O’Reilly Theater, the Cabaret at Theater Square, and alongside Second City touring companies. Player One is fast, hilarious short-form improv comedy from some of the most experienced performers in Pittsburgh.

Comic Wars
Celebrate the 3-Year Anniversary of Arcade Comedy Theater with a special edition of Comic Wars, hosted by Aaron Kleiber (Gotham Comedy Live, Q92 FM, The Improv)! Featuring two teams of all-star Pittsburgh comics, including Mike Wysocki (Q92 Morning Show), Ed Bailey (Drinking Partners), Mike Sasson (Q92 Morning Show), Shannon Norman (Blue Light Special & Q92), Sean Collier (DVE Morning Show), and Holly Price (The Improv).

Penny Arcade: All Ages Comedy Show
A matinee performance of Penny Arcade, the theater’s interactive improv show designed for kids K-6. Children are invited to stretch their imaginations and collaborate on crafting projects, which later inspire improvisers in a series of short-form games. This weekend, the show has a special Valentine’s Day theme for kids to enjoy!

Beta Stage
Over the past year, Arcade started a brand new weekly show made for new, experimental comedy: Beta Stage! Each week, students, independent teams, and old pros get together to try something different or new. This week, the Arcade presents an hour of musical improv!

Arcade Hootenanny with Rick Sebak
Pittsburgh storyteller and WQED documentarian Rick Sebak returns to the Arcade, this time for a full two-act comedy show! He’ll be sharing true tales to inspire improv scenes performed by a cast of all-stars from the Arcade community.

Magician Lee Terbosic
Celebrate 3 years of Arcade Comedy Theater with a hip night of comedy. Our late show on Saturday night will feature a live band, an improvised lounge act with Missy Moreno & Nick Stamatakis, and a headlining magic & comedy set by the nationally-known Lee Terbosic.
